Doctor Strange has been cast!
After years of speculation Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige finally lifted the veil of secrecy about the identity of the actor for the Sorcerer Supreme, also known as Doctor Strange. Marvel fanboys, buckle up: from Baker Street 22b, London… now residing in the Sanctum Santorum: Benedict “Sherlock Smaug” Cumberbatch!
Not only the Cumberbitches are going like this one, we think he is a good (but safe) choice as well! Now we only have to wait until 2016 to see Marvel’s most magical maestro enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe and take the fight to demons and evil magic! Is he going to be the new focal point of the movies, like Tony Stark was until now, or a team player? Is he gonna rock the leopard style gloves or not?
Deadpool has been cast (again)!
“Um… Chimichangas?” read Ryan Reynold’s twitter recently, which can mean only one thing. The merc with the mouth Deadpool has been cast and it is Ryan Reynolds. Again.
Will he leave the curse of participating in two of the worst superhero movies of all time (Wolverine Origins as “Deadpool”, Green Lantern as Van Wilder as Green Lantern) behind him, or will he succumb to it a third time? We have to wait until 2016 to find out. The on San Diego Comic Con released Deadpool test footage from a few years ago where Deadpool was voiced by Ryan Reynolds was definitely a step into the right direction, so we are hopeful (not hopeful enough to exclude a snarky beginning to this topic though). Let’s wait and see.
Wonder Woman gets a director and a screen writer!
After finally getting a director for the Wonder Woman movie (coming in 2017) a few weeks ago with Michelle Maclaren (from Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and more), DC has seemingly scored a script writer now too. Jason Fuchs, who wrote next years Peter Pan movie “Pan”, is in negotiations right now. The movie will star Gal Godot (Fast and the Furious franchise), who will debut the character of Wonder Woman in 2016′s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice for the first time since Linda Carter’s Wonder Woman in the 70s.
Terminator Genisys Trailer hits!

Dark Knight Returns Sequel in first planning stages!
DC Comics is currently planning a sequel to the 80s comic masterpiece “Dark Knight Returns“, which is one of the most influential comics of all time! There was already a sequel to that in 2001, “The Dark Knight Strikes Back”, which is much more controversial than the original masterpiece.
Frank Miller is working on it together with current Batman scribe Scott Snyder, but it seems like Miller won’t be handling the artistic side of things for this one, as his health does not permit him to do that. The story is supposed to be several years after Dark Knight Strikes Back and shows an aged Carrey Kelly (who was the female Robin in Dark Knight Returns) in a similar age and shape Bruce was in the first story, looking for someone to continue the fight to rid Gotham of crime once and for all.
Next Bond film cast and title revealed!
The next Bond movie has been revealed last week. The name will be “Spectre” and the cast is going to be Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, David Bautista and Andrew Scott, joining Daniel Craig as James Bond. Sam Mendes will return to direct again, after doing the last movie, Skyfall. Christoph Waltz is rumored to play an old mentor of Bond who taught him a lot of his skills. The name Spectre relates to the Bond franchise because of the global terrorist group called S.P.E.C.T.R.E. which was first led by Ernst Stavro Bloefeld in the novel Thunderball. The movie will release in 2015.
AMC orders Preacher pilot!
After decades of back and forth Preacher and Garth Ennis fans finally get their shot at a “Preacher” TV show! Seth Rogan (yes, that Seth Rogan) and Evan Goldberg have been hard at work on a TV treatment for a while now. Both are big comic book fans and of course veterans in the entertainment industry, so it was only a matter of time until the project started moving. Now the pilot is going in active production soon and casting is already underway on AMC, home of Walking Dead and Breaking Bad.
Preacher is about reverend Jesse Custer, who commands the voice of God and goes on a roadtrip to find God on vacation and to “kick his ass”. He goes on that journey with his best friend Cassidy, a homicidal irish vampire and his ex-girlfriend who is a professional assassin. On their way they meet the ghost of John Wayne and Arseface. Jupp. A DC Comics/Vertigo classic.
