Tom Hardy/Jason Momoa Talk DC Films
Next to releasing the Empire magazine shots from BvS as hq pictures online (plus a new picture of the Batmobile you can see above), there have been a few newsbits for the DC film slate in general. First, Jason Momoa talked about BvS and his role as Aquaman at Fanexpo in Canada. Check it out:
Next up we have Tom Hardy, who is currently promoting his new movie “Legend” in which he plays the infamous Kray twins of 50s London. He was also asked about returning to the DC film universe and he had a somewhat tongue in cheek answer for that.
Arrow Season 4 Trailer
Don’t let John Diggle’s Magneto cosplay fool you… this is about Arrow season 4. Not only did the Arrow producers unveil a first look at Diggle’s new way of masking himself, to keep his family safe, but also the trailer for season 4 of the DC TV show. But first things first…
Guggenheim: “We try to be very consistent with our characterization. I don’t think Diggle looks at it as a costume per se. Oliver, in the last season, gave him advice in terms of concealing his identity, and so Diggle approaches it from a very practical standpoint. He followed Oliver’s advice and he’s got a means of concealing his identity, but I think Diggle would probably react to anyone calling it a costume.”
Well, to be honest… it would make much more sense for the character to simply wear a bandana over his mouth or a balaclava mask, if he wanted to conceal his identity, but doesn’t want to be a masked superhero. I mean, maybe they come up with a good reason for it in the show, but right now it looks and seems a little silly.
What’s not silly is the trailer for season 4. Check it out below and tremble in awe before the blink and you miss it cameo of Matt Ryan’s John Constantine, who will be resurrected in episode 5!
I like the changes they seem to be going for, like him finally becoming Green Arrow and of course bringing one of my favorite DC characters, John Constantine, back to TV! Very excited for this season, lets just hope it’ll turn out better than season 3.
Agents of SHIELD Season 3 Sizzle Reel
A new trailer/sizzle reel for the upcoming third season of Agents of SHIELD has made its way online as well. Check it out above. I haven’t watched anything from Agents of SHIELD yet, so I cannot really say anything worth mentioning except… it looks good. Fans are probably going to be pretty happy, especially Inhumans fans.
Watch Blade, Tom Cruise, Scarface, Robocop and the Terminator Go Clubbing
Not really news, but absolutely share- worthy: the super cool mash up video from AMDSFilms, which combines nearly every popular club scene from the movies into one single clip. If you have roughly 10 minutes on your hands it’s very worth checking out.
Ron Perlman On Hellboy 3
Ron Perlman talked a bit more about the hopefully coming Hellboy 3 in an interview with Empire magazine last week.
*“Guillermo told me what the resolve of the trilogy would look like, in broad strokes, and it’s such an amazingly theatrical, cinematic idea, that I found it essential that we do it.” *
“Holy shit, he’s the beast of the Apocalypse. He has to take down civilization. He has to. It’s non-negotiable. That’s the foundation for the story, and that’s why I think it would be a shame if we don’t do it.”
He also revealed some of the plans for the twins, Hellboy found out about at the end of Hellboy 2.
“One would look like the mum and one would look like the dad. And one of them was going to be completely fucking corrupt, the other one angelic. Which one was which? Only Guillermo would make the fucked-up-looking one be the angel. So then that adds to the saga.”
Sounds like a pretty cool idea and outline. I really hope Guillermo del Toro find the financial backing he needs to finish the trilogy. We will keep you updated on this, here on the Archonia blog!
New Trailer For Creed
Here we got the international trailer for the upcoming drama Creed, which is in a way Rocky VII. It follows the son of Apollo Creed, who wants to be trained by Rock Balboa himself.
I am a pretty big Stallone and Rocky fan, so this is very exciting for me. I thought Rocky Balboa ended the Rocky story perfectly, but this way I get to see my old friend again and since the movie isn’t really about him, it doesn’t compromise his story either way. Apart from that, Creed looks like it is going to be an amazing film on its own. Very, very excited.
Chris Evans On Captain America/Marvel
After Captain America: Civil War, Chris Evans will have completed five Marvel movies out of his six movie contract with the house of ideas. Talking to Collider, he spoke up about that fact and how his future with Marvel looks like.
“Listen, if Marvel wants me, they got me. I’ve never had such a relationship where you have such — I mean, look at my resume, I’m used to being on set being like, ‘Ah is this movie gonna be terrible?’ Marvel just can’t stop making great movies, they do it in their sleep. It’s wonderful directors and producers and actors and scripts, and it’s like a playground as an actor.”
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight he said:
“It’s almost terrifying to think about these being done. It always feels so good to kind of wrap and just say, ‘Alright, one more down.’ But it’s also kind of like high school in a sense. You keep looking to when you’re going to be done, and we’re almost done now, and you’re not quite ready for it to be over.”
So it doesn’t look like fans will have to miss their current Cap, if Marvel wants to keep him on the roster. Very good news.
