Flash/Arrow Crossover Trailer
CW/WB has released a new look at this years The Flash and Arrow crossover, which will start this week on Flash on December 1st and end with Arrow on December 2nd. Check out the trailer above!
The two episode crossover will be the unofficial pilot or intro to next years Legends of Tomorrow series, which will feature a team (comprised of Atom, White Canary, Captain Cold, Heatwave, Firestorm, Hawkman, Hawkgirl and Time Traveller Rip Hunter) going up against immortal DC villain Vandal Savage!
Aquaman Movie Villain/ Mera Rumors
According to JoBlo the villain for upcoming DC Comics movie will be Oceanmaster! His atlantean name is Orm Marius and he is Arthur Curry’s half brother, who will try to take the throne of Atlantis away from the Momoa played superhero.
Mera, Aquaman’s great love and fellow Atlantean, will also be part of the movie. According to the report she will be “a force to be reckoned with”, fierce and based on Furiosa’s portrayal in Mad Max Fury Road.
Sounds all great to me! Coupled with director James Wan, who is famous for doing the first Saw, Insidious and The Conjuring, I have the feeling this one is going to turn out pretty interesting. Jason Momoa’s Aquaman is supposedly having his debut in next years Batman v Superman movie in March!
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Poster
Looks like a fun poster! Check out the description of the movie out below:

Casting aside personal and social prejudices, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy must unite on the blood-soaked battlefield to rid the country of the zombie menace and discover their true love for one another.“
Directed and co-written by Burr Steers, along with Oscar-nominated co-writer David. O. Russell ( director of The Fighter, American Hustle and ), “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” with Lily James, S Matt Smith and Lena Headey is set for a February 5, 2016 release date.

Batman v Superman Clip
After the midseason finale of Gotham yesterday, DC Comics and Warner Brothers showed a 50 second teaser clip to hype up the debut of the 3rd Batman v Superman trailer, which will debut on December 2nd via Jimmy Kimmel Live.
The short clip *shows us Ben Affleck’s Batman in a Mad Max-esque outfit, chained and imprisoned, while Superman makes a very Injustice inspired appearance as a bad guy.
*Mild SPOILER following:
This surely is part of a nightmare sequence Bruce Wayne has, after what happened in MoS. This SDCC pictures of all the BvS toys were leaked and the version of Batman we see in this trailer was called “Knightmare Batman”.
All in all this short clip looks very exciting and gave us our first longer look at Ben Affleck in the cowl. It also reaffirms my belief that director Zack Snyder is truly one of the most underrated filmmakers working today, especially for the comic book/superhero genre, since every frame of this (just like every frame of the trailers) really looks like a panel out of a comic book! Only 122 days to go, people! Haven’t been this excited for a movie in years! I waited my whole life for a Batman/Superman movie! Can’t wait!
Tom Holland Spider-man News
While doing press for his current movie “Heart of the Sea”, the new Spider-man Tom Holland shared a few details about the new MCU Peter Parker and the shooting of the upcoming Spider-man solo movie by Marvel Studios.
“We’re shooting in Atlanta for most of it, because they have studios there and I think it’s cheaper to build a New York set than it is to shoot here, because it’s going to be very expensive…We probably will end up here (in New York) for one week or two.”
“I think one of the most interesting things about Peter Parker for us is that he’s the only person in the MCU now that has a secret identity, so we all know who everyone else is…I think it’s quite interesting to go back to that hiding behind a mask.”
Very happy that they seem to keep his secret identity intact, since I truly miss that part of the superhero equation in the MCU movies. It might seem outdated to some people, but as we saw in multiple Iron Man movies, it is actually a bad idea to not have a secret identity as a superhero. It also just adds another interesting wrinkle to the whole concept, in my opinion at least.
Excited to see how Spidey will look in next years Captain America: Civil War!
Deadpool Thanksgiving Greetings
Ryan Reynolds and the team behind the Deadpool movie, which will land in theatres February next year, bring us another one of their holiday themed pictures via the movies official twitter account.
*I forget. Is a turducken stuffed with three additional meats, or four? Happy Thanksgiving. *
Marvel Passed On a Del Toro/Gaiman Doctor Strange Movie
At the moment, Marvel Studios is in the midst of production of Doctor Strange, with Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role and Scott Derrickson behind the camera. While that doesn’t sound bad, it seems Marvel passed on a version of the movie that seems, at least on paper, far superior to this one.
As shared via his Twitter account, writer/sorcerer Neil Gaiman (The Sandman, American Gods, Coraline) wanted to do his own version of the film for Marvel…* with Guillermo Del Toro* (Hellboy 1-2, Pan’s Labyrinth, Crimson Peak) behind the camera no less! This is what he tweeted:
@KurtBusiek I still wish Marvel had been interested in a @RealGDT & me Dr Strange movie, because I wanted to write Clea so badly after 1602.
This really made my jaw drop to the floor. Slashfilm also found an older interview with him from 2008 on Bleeding Cool, that seems to go into more detail.
“I would love to write Doctor Strange. It would be absolutely one of my dream jobs [to write] a Doctor Strange movie. Last year I was out in Budapest for three weeks on the set of Hellboy II with Guillermo, and I mentioned to him that I’ve been, in very very early sort of “I would to do this” talks with Marvel about doing a Doctor Strange movie, and Guillermo’s reaction was, ‘Neil, I want to direct it!’
But the fact of the matter is, you know, Guillermo has two Hobbit movies now, and then he’s probably gonna do another personal movie, I would imagine, after that. Probably Hellboy 3 ’cause he’d wanna do it before everybody gets too old to look like the Hellboy characters [laughs]. Although, actually I think he may have thought that one through in different ways. Anyway, the point is we’re probably, we may be four years away from Guillermo being free to do it, and I’m not entirely sure I’d want to do it without him. So we’ll see.”
Del Toro talked about it the same year with Empire:
“I talked with Neil Gaiman [about writing it]. I said, that’s an interesting character because you can definitely make him more in the pulpy occult detective/magician mold and formula than was done in the Weird Tales, for example…the idea of a character that really dabbles in the occult in a way that’s not X-File-y, where the supernatural is taken for granted. That’s interesting…But I wouldn’t use the suit!”
Funny that the whole interview shines a light on more projects that Guillermo didn’t do than ones he did.
Still, a shame. A Doctor Strange movie with these two could have been magical, pun intended. Why Marvel passed on it isn’t sure, but when you take a look at the directors they work with it is pretty clear they prefer somewhat newer, cheaper and less opinionated talent, who haven’t done multi million dollar movies yet, so maybe working with a creative powerhouse in the confines of the shared universe seemed a bit scary to them, since Del Toro has the reputation of doing his own thing.
Wonder Woman Set Pictures
Wonder Woman has been filming for a few weeks now. Now we have new pictures of the shoot, filming on location in Essex UK. What these pictures, first published by the Daily Mail, actually confirm is the WWI setting of at least part of the film. We see Gal Gadot as Diana in period garb, just as Chris Pine’s Steve Trevor.
Directed by Patty Jenkins, “Wonder Woman” opens June 23, 2017.
