Game of Thrones may be ending soon, but George R.R. Martin isn't done with TV just yet!

It's no shame if you don't know about Wild Cards yet, but that might soon change! Wild Cards is about a post World War II universe where a virus was released above Manhanttan and then spread across the globe. Of those infected, 90% died horribly, drawing the black queen, 9% were twisted and deformed into jokers, while a lucky 1% became blessed with extraordinary and unpredictable powers and became aces. The world was never the same.

The first volume of the Wild Cards series was published in 1986 so this series already has a legacy spanning nearly 3 decades! Twenty-two volumes have been published to date, the 23rd coming later this years and three more are in the works.

It's important to know though that George R.R. Martin has not written all these himself, but the anthologies, mosaic novels, books, and graphic novels are written by a group of 30 authors (called the Wild Cards Trust) and edited by Martin and Melinda M. Snodgrass.

This even bigger universe may be coming to the small screen in the next couple of years as GRRM himself talked about the sci-fi superheroes series Wild Cards and it's possible transition to television!
