James Gunn Talks Guardians Vol.3
James Gunn not only brought the Guardians to the silver screen, but he also indirectly shaped them for the comics, as his version was something very new and different that the comics now try to emulate. So to say he nailed it, is a severe understatement.
No wonder that fans are impatiently waiting for vol.3 to start production asap!
In a recent Facebook Q&A he was asked about the third movie in his Marvel movie trilogy and he had quite a few updates.
"I'm more than a year into the process, so the script is far along. For many many months I first write the treatment which is 80 pages or so with photographs. That turns into GotG - I'm now rewriting and making sure my rough draft works."
When asked if he thinks about incorporating any X-Men or FF related characters, because of the possible Disney/Fox merger, which will bring a lot of extra characters back into Marvel Studios grasp, he sadly didn't have the answer fans probably wanted to hear.
"Not gonna happen in any major way. Too far along."
He also hinted about the team and the movie being very different in the wake of the things that happened to his team in Avengers Infinity War and the upcoming Avengers 4.
"It's very, very, very different. Very different, but I won't say how! You'll have to wait to see the movie, it's a long time away."
As much as I liked Guardians vol.1 and 2, the characters finally really clicked for me in Infinity War, so I am excited to see where they go next.
Mission Impossible Stunts Featurette
Well, it's not news to say that Tom Cruise is absolutely insane, in the very best possible way, by doing all his stunt in the Mission Impossible franchise himself... but boy did a halo jump.
A halo jump.
For a movie.
That means a High-Altitude Low-Opening jump from a plane at almost 10 km altitude that Cruise actually did. To practice he had to do over 100 jumps (several daily) to prepare for it. All to make sure its a cool sequence in the film, which everybody else would have done either via stuntmen or CGI. Check out the behind the scenes footage above.
Avengers Videogame Info Leaked
Square Enix and Marvel announced a few years ago a partnership which is supposed to produce a lot of different Marvel video games. We haven't heard a lot since, but according to a leak at 4chan (which is a lot more trustworthy than it sounds, when it comes to video game news), we now have some info.
Cutting to the short of it: "The Avengers Project" is Avengers: Ultimate Alliance. But it's not just Ultimate Alliance 3, it's a full reboot with the name on it (think something like the new God of War, minus the story continuity: similar name, totally new gameplay/story structure). That's the reason why the tagline of the first teaser was "Reassemble", to hint at it being a reboot. This is also why the previous Ultimate Alliance games got uprezed recently for current-gen.
The game takes place from the perspective of multiple Avengers after a cataclysmic incident broke the team apart (think more Dissassembled than Civil War), but there are 3 which are the core focus: Captain America, Iron Man, and Scarlet Witch (who you heard in the trailer). They aren't the ONLY playable characters, but they are the leads of the story. Gameplay wise think a mix between Uncharted and Infamous
It'll also have connections putting it in both the same world as the PS4 Spider-Man game (that Sanctum Sanctorum appearance in still images was not just for fun), as well as Eidos Montreal's Guardians of the Galaxy. Marvel Games wants in on that shared universe idea that have made the films literal billions of dollars.
I am MEGA excited for the upcoming, Sony exclusive Spider-Man game, which will come out in September, so hearing that the Avengers game might be of similar quality and in the same universe is a great idea.
Chris Hemsworth Talks Avengers 4
MCU fans around the world are still reeling from the shock that Avengers Infinity War gave them a few weeks back. Seriously, what a movie.
So now while we all patiently wait for the next movie ti arrive next year, we still don't know anything about it. Not the name, not the big bad, nothing.
In a recent interview with Esquire Magazine, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth revealed a little bit about his thoughts on the next Avengers film.
"If you were shocked by [Infinity War], I think the second one is even more shocking, for other reasons entirely. That’s what kind of blew me away the first time I read both scripts, is how they managed to orchestrate so many different characters but give them each their own separate shot and moments, and have it be elevated and feel fresh and unique – not just like a messy, thrown-together assembly of these guys."
Sounds great. Can't wait!
Details About The Flash Solo Movie Leaked
A new threat in the DCEULeaks forum on reddit has surfaced, with some details about the upcoming Flash solo movie, which now probably will not be a Flashpoint film, like originally planned.
Details now rumored to be part of the film are a way scaled back level of threat and scope from the other DCU films (they wanna go smaller and more relatable), a way more comedic tone, inclusion of the Rogues as villains, Jay Gerrick being an older hero for Barry to look up to, Channing Tatum maybe as Captain Cold and a possible release date for 2019.
To be honest... to me this sounds like the most boring and safe way to do this movie. I was very excited to see the Flashpoint story on screen, which would've almost been a Justice League sequel, but there would have been other cool stand alone Flash ideas that are a little bit more dramatic.
We will see if there rumors are even true, or if they end up working. Spider-Man Homecoming had a similar scope and tone and that was a great movie, so it might work out well in the end. We just have to wait and see.
