Star Wars Episode VII News and Spots
With the newest Episode in the Star Wars saga coming closer and closer each and every day the promotional campaign is already going full throttle! For example we have this cool little spot that shows some new footage:
The running time for “The Force Awakens” has also been revealed last week and is reportedly 2 hours and 15 minutes long, according to Entertainment Weekly.
JJ Abrams also talked a bit about the Death Star-esque imagery on the final poster for the movie, which you can see above. That monstrosity is called Starkiller base and JJ shared a few details with EW about it.
“It is very much — and it’s acknowledged as such in the movie — apparently another Death Star… But what it’s capable of, how it works, and what the threat is, is far greater than what the Death Star could have done. Starkiller Base is another step forward, technologically speaking, in terms of power.”
Actor Domnhall Gleason talked a bit about his role in the film as well: General Hux.
“You don’t get that high up in your life that quickly unless you’re pretty ruthless. He’s kind of opposite Kylo Ren. They have their own relationship, which is individual and unusual. One of them is strong in different ways than the other. They’re both vying for power.”
Sounds very much like a Grand Moff Tarkin/Darth Vader relationship to me.
Directed by Abrams, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max Von Sydow.
Justice League and Wonder Woman Movie Details
In an interview series with Collider, producer Charles Roven talked about the filming for Wonder Woman and Justice League part 1.
“We’re actually gonna start shooting ['Wonder Woman'] towards the end of [November]… We are shooting in the U.K. and in Italy. We’re making most of ‘Wonder Woman’ and we’re also making most of ‘Justice League’ there [London], ‘JL One’. We’re definitely gonna be shooting ‘Part One’ in the first or second quarter of next year.”
Also, French actor Saïd Taghmaoui shared the following picture via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, which shows him next to Chris Pine in front of a trailer for the production of Wonder Woman, which confirms that the movie has already started shooting last week.
It is still not 100% confirmed which roles both actors will play, but it is pretty safe to say that Pine will play Wonder Woman’s long time love interest Steve Trevor in the movie. Saïd Taghmaoui was also interviewed by a French magazine last week and talked about his physical preparation for the movie. The magazine talked about him playing a superhero, but I wouldn’t take that as a fact, as I think that was a leap made by the editor, because its a superhero movie.
“a good superhero character. But the story is still a secret — I can’t tell you any more about it.”
Still… maybe he plays a greek god who hides among humans, because he still talked about how
important his shape is for the role. Both actors are also in period garb, which probably means that WW will go the way of Captain America The First Avenger and be a period piece. Not sure if that’s typical WWI or WWII clothing though, but I would lean towards WWII.
Olivia Wilde On captain Marvel
On the Late Show With James Corden, Melissa Benoist (TV’s Supergirl) and Olivia Wilde spoke a bit about superheroes. You can watch the whole exchange above, but essentially Corden talked about Benoist success playing supergirl and asked Wilde about the fan campaign on the internet which is looking to get her the role of Marvel’s Captain Marvel
Russia Isn’t A Big Iron Man Fan
As if the appearance of Russian bad guy Whiplash wasn’t enough, now Russia’s government isn’t a big fan of Tony Stark’s on screen exploits either. Russian conservative politician Vladimir Medinsky talked a bit about Iron Man, to explain the Russian governments plans to combat the influence of American big budget movies in their homeland, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
“Good movies are always in demand. The viewer for our movies is a hundred times more important for us than the one who goes to see ‘Iron Man’ because he has something left in his heart, mind and soul.”
New Guardians of the Galaxy Animated Clip
Marvel TV has released a new glimpse at their Guardians of the Galaxy TV animated show, which shows the Guardians taking on a few symbiotes (yeah, you know what kinda symbiotes I am talking about), while Star Lord enjoys a bit of 70s disco music. The show is clearly very close to the movie in style and well worth checking out!
