A big week, full of amazing Geekly news! Like the first trailer for Black Panther, new Spider_man Homecoming spots, Amazons returning in JL and more!
Chris Evans Returns In Avengers 4
In an interview with the UK's Telegraph, actor Chris Evans was asked about his future at Marvel as Captain America. It had been widely known that his contract was going to expire after Avengers Infinity War, so people were wondering if he would return at all.
"I had six films in my Marvel contract, so I could have said after the third Avengers I was done, but they wanted to make the third and fourth Avengers films as a two-parter. They said they had so many other characters to fit in – Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Ant Man – and couldn’t get them all into one movie. [I agreed] because it made sense. It’s going to wrap everything up."
While its awesome that we will not only get the next Avengers movie with Evans as Cap, but also the one after that, what he says kinda sounds like that might be it for him. Of course Disney could just drive a truck full of money on his lawn and see if that helps.
Wonder Woman Amazons Return In Justice League
Wonder Woman launched into theatres in the US already and even we have held a special preview screening last Friday! The movie is a total success with audiences and critics alike, so of course everybody is speculating when we will see a sequel and if we will see more character return in the future, apart from Diana herself.
Connie Nielsen, who played the magnificent queen Hippolyta in WW, talked a little bit about that with the Los Angeles Times
"[Wright, who plays Antiope, and I] got to do more in 'Justice League' as well. As sisters as well. Kind of badass as well. We can’t say much, but..."
Robin Wright added "And more of the story, you get some of the history."
They are, no doubt, referring to the scene we already saw a little glimpse of in the JL trailer, which shows what looks like the amazons take on an invading alien army (Darkseid's Parademons) in ancient times.
I was really in awe of both women's portrayal of these two characters, so I am super excited we get to see more of them, even if its just in a short flashback scene.

Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine – distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man – but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.

Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
DC Films And Marvel Studios Unite To Celebrate Richard Donner
In a special 90-minute program at the film academy's Samuel Goldwyn Theater, Superman and Lethal Weapon director Richard Donner was honored for his outstanding career! When it was time to reflect on his 1978 work "Superman: The Movie", Marvel Studios' own Kevin Feige and DC Films co-chair Geoff Johns teamed up on stage to praise the influential director and the film itself! You can watch the short clip above!
Both men started their careers under the tutelage of Donner, as they both worked as interns at his production company early in their careers.
