This week is all about Justice League, Thor Ragnarok, Deadpool 2 and Shazam has FINALLY been cast!
Josh Brolin Talks Deadpool 2
Ryan Reynolds and Josh Brolin just recently finished shooting the Deadpool sequel, which is surely on a lot of peoples list of most anticipated movies.
In a new interview with Collider, Brolin talked about his role as Cable in the movie and what we can expect from Deadpool 2.
I had heard somewhere along the line, and I think it’s okay for me to say this, but I heard somewhere along the line that they felt the first Deadpool didn’t have enough action. […] With this movie, it’s just a different deal. He embraces what he’s very good at, which I think is very smart. There’s ton of action in it. The tease is, a guy who’s 49 years old on the cusp of 50 who got in the best shape of his life, especially exteriorly, and I was extremely disciplined throughout that whole thing. I got beat to shit on that movie. That’s all I know. I had stuntmen throwing me all over the place.
Deadpool 2 will be out next year.
Shazam Has Been Cast
David F Sandberg (Annabelle Creation, Lights Out) has already finished writing his Shazam script for the upcoming DC Film earlier this year and the film is scheduled to go in front of cameras by the end of the year.
What hasn't been clear yet was who would play the lead role of the big red cheese himself, Shazam (formerly known as the OG Captain Marvel). That has now changed. Zachary Levi (Chuck) has been cast as Shazam! The actor took to Instagram and shared his thoughts on the part.
"Honored and greatly humbled to be a part of the #dcuniverse by bringing the original Captain Marvel to life. I am beside myself with gratitude, not only for this opportunity, but also the incredible outpouring of love and support from so many of you out there in the world. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll be in the gym for the rest of forever. 🙏 (amazingly cool art courtesy of @bosslogic) #Shazam"
I think he is a good choice and while Shazam isn't high on my list for DC Films I need to see asap, I can't wait to see their take on the character.
Thor Ragnarok Sneak Peek

In Marvel Studios' "Thor: Ragnarok," Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok - the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization - at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger - the Incredible Hulk!
Justice League Music Video
Check out the new music video by Gary Clark Jr. with the official JL song "Come Together" from the trailers.
Months after the events of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and inspired by Superman's apparent sacrifice for humanity, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince assemble a team of metahumans consisting of Barry Allen, Arthur Curry, and Victor Stone to face the catastrophic threat of Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons, who are on the hunt for three Mother Boxes on Earth.
Justice League Score
When Joss Whedon took over post production of Zack Snyder's Justice League movie (because Snyder had to leave production because of a family tragedy) he not only took control of reshoots, but also fired Hans Zimmer protege and composer Junkie XL from the movie and brought on his own man, Danny Elfman, to score the team up, who already worked with Whedon on Age of Ultron.
People like me, who love the Hans Zimmer/Junkie XL scores of the Snyder DC movies, this had been disconcerting news, because I really don't wanna say goodbye to the themes that those two already established for the characters in MoS and BvS (especially the piano theme for Clark is one of my favorite pieces of music of all time). Now, Warner Bros. has released the first track from the Elfman score, called Hero's Theme, which you can check out above.
I have to be honest here... I think this is a vast step backwards and sounds super generic, as it would fit with any type of movie. Zimmer's MoS and BvS scores were unique and very different, which I appreciated, so WB now changing the soundscape completely and probably tossing out already established themes for characters seems like a nightmare to me. I am not overhyping this when I say that change in score deflates my excitement for JL easily by 30%, as I LOVED the old scores and they were a big part of my enjoyment of these films.
Yeah. I dunno. I seriously bummed.
