Sebastian Stan Talks Black Panther After Credits Scene
Sebastian Stan's character Bucky has been a mainstay of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since phase one and went through a LOT of changes during those 8 years. From friend of Steve Rogers in First Avengers, to brain washed assassin in Winter Soldier, to man on the run in Civil War, to a new man in the Black Panther after credit scene. That scene showed that T'Challa's sister, Shuri, helped Buck overcome the brainwashing he got via Hydra and also hinted at him evolving even more... maybe into the White Wolf from the Black Panther comics. In an interview with Kinowetter he was asked about that possibility.
"I want to go back and revisit the Black Panther comics because of the White Wolf situation and that’s a whole different line, so I didn’t even see that really going that way and understanding what that could be. But it’s really clever the way they do it, if you think about it. I look at that and go, ‘Of course. That makes sense, that feels well.’ I don’t know how they think about it."
He also revealed that the very short scene was actually a lot longer when they shot it.
"There was something really actually funny about that scene. It's definitely better the way it is now, I think. But that scene was at least 8 more minutes long than what we saw. And it was like a more inquisitive Bucky. He was kind of really going, 'What are they calling me?' And [Shuri] was telling him a little about it, and they have more of an interaction. And then he walked over and started hanging out with elders and playing with the kids, but you don't see that."
While I think the White Wolf thing will not play out in the MCU, I still think it is a nice tie into Wakandan mythology. I think IF Stan stays on after Avengers 4 he might take over the mantle of captain America, just like Bucky did in the comics.
Lost Footage Of Adam West As Batman Has Surfaced
In a clip, never been shown outside of the UK we can see Adam West's caped crusader doing a Public Service Announcement, where he teaches children, in best Batman 66 manner, to cross the street in a safe and orderly manner. Check out the clip above.
Yoda Rumored To Return In Star Wars Episode 9
According to sources of the New York Daily News, your favorite small and green skinned jedi master will most probably return in the next JJ Abrams helmed Star Wars movie!
"The success of the scenes featuring Yoda in The Last Jedi were huge. Yoda will again appear as a ghost as he acknowledges Rey’s success and growth as a Jedi. The scenes are due to be put together later this year."
I really enjoyed Yoda's small scene in the Last Jedi, but feel that Disney shouldn't try to replicate that again. It made sense for him to show up when his star pupil Luke had a crisis, but Yoda's force ghost to show up for Rey or Kylo is a bit on the random side for me. We'll see what happens when Episode 9 comes out in a few years!
Infinity War Directors Talk Replacing Downey
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Infinity War co-director Joe Russo was asked about the future of the franchise and how they thing replacing Robert Downey jr. will be handled after the star drops out of the role.
"There is nobody who can take over Iron Man from Robert. He can’t play the character forever. I am sure there are lots other things he wants to do in his career. But he loves playing the character, I know that, and we love working together. We will see where it goes from here."
"Robert is an incredible leader. He is a very warm and inclusive human being. He is great in keeping everyone’s spirits high and making everyone feel invited in the process… In the healthy creative space."
As much as I love Downey as Stark, I think it is not good for the status of the character to not want to recast at some point. The character has to be more iconic than any actor or interpretation for it to have longlevity on the screen, just like it is with Batman, Bond, Dracula and other cinematic mainstays.
