Time Jump Between Infinity War and Avengers 4?
Fans around the world are still scratching their heads on how the saga of the Avengers will continue in Avengers 4. The movie has been completed for months already, but we don't even know the official title yet, as Marvel went into lockdown mode, to keep us guessing for a while.
Now in an interview with the Huffington Post, the directors Joe and Anthony Russo talked about the Marvel universe going forward... and hinted at Avengers 4 maybe taking place after a significant time jump.
"Here’s the thing, I think it’s important to remember anything is possible in the MCU [Marvel Cinematic Universe]. Just because there’s a sequel on the books doesn’t mean … people become accustomed to time moving linearly in the MCU. That doesn’t necessarily have to be the case. There’s a lot of very inventive ways of where the story can go."*
"There’s four years between Guardians 2 and Infinity War. That’s a long time, and a lot of Guardians stories to tell. Again, as Anthony said, don’t expect everything to move forward in a linear fashion in the Marvel universe."
This could just mean that Guardians vol.3, Black Panther 2 and the Spider-man Homecoming sequel could play out in the timeline BEFORE the snap occurred. I think this won't happen, since fans would feel cheated. This is just a way to keep people from being too sure their favorite characters getting revived in any way in Avengers 4. I actually think this is more about Avengers 4 playing out a few years after Infinity War and then some characters going back in time. This is all speculation of course.
We will see in 2019!
Cyberpunk 2077 Trailer
It is E3 this week and like usual that means a HUGE influx of new video game announcements and trailer debuts! Top of the line, so far (as E3 isn't even half over and big guns like Sony are still coming later this week), is without a doubt a look at Cyberpunk 2077, the new game from CD Projekt Red, the makers of Witcher 3! Check out the amazing, all in engine rendered footage from the game above and marvel upon its incredible sense of detail, design and story.
Fallout 76 Gameplay
Bethesda announced a new iteration of their beloved Fallout franchise and showed the first footage at E3 this week, as part of their own E3 conference. Check out the footage above!
Fallout 76 takes place in Virginia, after the nuclear apocalypse. You are one of the first people who make their way out of Vault 76, a Vault Tech anti nuclear fallout shelter and who will explore a new and apparently very different wasteland!
The new game is supposed to be online and you will be able to explore the world in coop. If that mean the game will work a la Destiny and the Devision, or more like a fully fledged MMORPG like Elder Scrolls online, remains to be seen. I hope it will be the former.
New Into The Spider-Verse Trailer
The first full trailer for the fully animated Spider-Man Into The Spider-Verse is out and you can check it out above!
The movie will focus on the Ultimate Spider-Man, Miles Morales, and will also be inspired by the Spider-Verse event from marvel comics, where a large team of alternate universe Spider-men have to team up against a shared enemy. Plus: the movie debut for Spider-Gwen (SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!)!
Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, the creative minds behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, bring their unique talents to a fresh vision of a different Spider-Man Universe, with a groundbreaking visual style that’s the first of its kind. Spider-Man™: Into the Spider-Verse introduces Brooklyn teen Miles Morales, and the limitless possibilities of the Spider-Verse, where more than one can wear the mask.
Benedict Cumberbatch Wants To Do More Doctor Strange
Actor Benedict Cumberbatch recently talked a bit to Deadline about his career and the role of Doctor Strange in the Marvel universe obviously came up and while some Hollywood actors look down on their roles in a star studded, CGI infused, superhero film, Cumberbatch seems to really enjoy playing the character and the experience of doing these kind of movies. On the question if he would like to further play the Sorcerer Supreme he had this very enthusiastic answer.
"Oh, Strange? Just try to stop me. That’s all kind of lined up as far as I’m aware, but who knows? I mean, you know, the problem is, how does he get out of where he’s at. But that’s the only thing. I’m bits of dust at the moment as far as I understand. So you really have to ask [Marvel Studios President] Kevin Feige. But as far as wanting to do it, yeah, I would love to go back into that role."
While I originally am not a huge Doctor Strange fan, his performance, especially in Infinity War, brought me closer to the character than ever and I think he is a great fit for the part.
